@MFWitches Yes I had the same explanation from my mate from Dubai. Pretty normal. I experienced the same flying into SFO the day the gulf war started years ago. we had fighter jets on both wings escorting us and pilot didn't say why till we landed.

A friend of mine flew from Dubai to Australia a few days ago on Emirates and according to him the aircraft was accompanied by a fighter jet (he didn’t know from which country) so the jet could hopefully shoot down any missiles coming for the plane. No idea if this is true but that’s a first-person report from a person I know and trust. Anyone else heard anything like this?
