@sjahfat The modelling itself is good, but model outputs are only as good as their inputs.

ANALYSIS | If small-town Alberta is wary of Danielle Smith, nothing is a given any more | CBC News cbc.ca/news/canada/ca… @markusoff using the latest polling data @planetjanetyyc shows the UCP is having issues in small cities and suburbs, not just in Edmonton/Calgary.

@DribbleLin Also... are you using "regular" install or remotes::install_github? B/c it's not yet on CRAN, you'll need to install from GitHub by: install.packages("remotes") remotes::install_github("jb-santos/svyEffects") Full version will be out once I finish documentation!

@DribbleLin That's odd. The R version dependency is >= 3.5.0, so that shouldn't be a problem. Try updating the packages in the import list: dplyr, ggplot2, magrittr, MASS, "rlang", scales, stringr, survey, tidyr. Also, try updating the packages devtools and remotes.

@jbsno1 Hi John, thanks for the sharing of your work of svyEffects package on GitHub! But I currently run in to an issue that “the package is not available for this version of R”. I tried updated my R to the latest but do not work. Could you help me out here~ really appreciate it

.@AbDanielleSmith has further advise for #Ukraine In her opinion, Russia is justified for attacking Ukraine. Ukraine must not join NATO. Ukraine is to remain neutral. Smith is an embarrassment and her intentionally offensive comments can not be walked back. #ableg #cdnpoli

@DrewPAnderson It's not upscale as many of the recommendations, but my wife and I love to celebrate special occasions at The Grizzly House!

I went to @moxies for the first time in years. The food was good, and the menu has many options that seem delicious. However, the #grammar on the decor was disappointing.

The centralist tendencies of the Fathers (not "Founders") is basic 2nd year intro-to-#cdnpoli knowledge... and a fact that does not change depending on one's position on the centralism-decentralism question. #ableg

Danielle Smith says the "founders" (is that an American term?) never intended the provinces to be subordinate to the federal government. She should get government constitutional lawyers to give her a basic primer on the division of powers in Canada's constitution.#cdnpoli #abpoli

@matt_blackwell I tried to learn all three at once. For loops were the first to stick. Translating loops to map operation was easier than the apply family, given map's more consistent syntax.

For those who teach R to beginners, what do you find to be the best way into iteration: for loops or apply/map?

Since it looks like we will, indeed, get exactly what was on the tin, it'll be interesting to see Smith pass off her leadership victory (backed by <4% of AB'ans) as a popular mandate for her radical policy ideas. #ableg

Interesting that Jason Kenney didn't think 51.4% was enough to stay on as leader & Danielle Smith wins w/ 53.8% after going through all of the ballots--a difference of 2.4 percentage points. The big question now is which Smith shows up to work tomorrow. #ableg

Rather, they support those processes because they believe they will produce the policies they want at the current moment. When the wind blows another way (like when a sitting premier faces the threat of recall), those processes are quickly discarded.

This is no surprise b/c many western so-called "populists" aren't actually proceduralists but are consequentialists. They don't support direct democracy processes because they believe those process produce better (at least on average) results than "elite-driven" processes.

If--as expected but not guaranteed--Danielle Smith wins and immediately introduces her proposed sovereignty act, it will be a betrayal of her (ostensible) populism. #ableg #abpoli
