Reception have been sustaining many outdoor projects as part of their Creative Arts week focus on bugs, including bug hunting, bug drawing, beetle juice mixing and story mapping! @JCA__Art

Reception have loved the start of Creative Arts week. We are studying the illustrations of Yuval Zommer, and have enjoyed looking at his art in books as well as starting to study and use ink pens to draw our favourite bugs! @JCA__Art

Our caterpillars are getting very big now in Reception! This week, we are reading the story of "The Woolly Bear Caterpillar" and are learning that caterpillars transform into moths, as well as butterflies! @jcaeyfs

An excellent week in Reception! Our "Circle of Life" theme is completely engaging us and we have also been learning how to count in different ways in Maths. Superstar learning! @jcaeyfs

The Reception children have taken ownership to create a caterpillar Observation Station. "We need to make a sign... do not shake!" They discussed how to keep the caterpillars safe before creating signs to help! @jcaeyfs

Happy 🌍 Earth Day! Reception have been excellent planet protectors and have been learning lots about the different ways we can look after our planet! This morning, some children even spoke in front of our whole-school assembly about how we can help! @jcaeyfs
