“[Evan Bouchard] is unfairly painted by hockey fans in the east that don’t watch the Oilers, log onto Twitter in the morning and see a 13-second clip that sticks with them.” @frank_seravalli on Bouchard’s standing in the Norris Trophy race with @jccuthbert and @jesserubinoff.

Well there you have it. The streak ends officially at 440 consecutive games. It appropriately enough ends while at an airport lounge. I’m least I’m not stranded and in my home city. Cheers 🥂

I haven't missed a #Leafs regular season or playoff game since the last regular season game of 2021. That streak is in jeopardy. But my flight is still scheduled for an on-time departure. The anticipation is killing me. I feel like I'm playing my own version of The Amazing Race.

John Carlson has to be apoplectic. This Ducks team ain’t it.

Pezzetta pouring over the boards would have cemented record legend status. Alas, no response.

@FAN590 @Brandon_N_Wile @ailishforfar @jccuthbert Hey guys .. this tie breaker is actually not that “weird and hard to figure out”. It’s used in every minor baseball tournament my boys have played in. They could figure it out at 10 years old and were very aware of how every run/out affected them while the game was happening 😛

“It’s pretty special to come out of retirement and pitch in what’s arguably the biggest win in Canada Baseball history.” @Brandon_N_Wile joins @ailishforfar and @jccuthbert to reflect on James Paxton’s impact after Canada clinched their first-ever spot in the WBC quarterfinals.

Not sure the USA WBC debacle solves all my post-Olympic problems but it’s certainly a step in the right direction

wonder if in the sober light of morning it will click for Auston Matthews that any chance of salvaging the leafs season depends largely on games in two of the next three nights

Congrats to the US. The Gaudreau tributes were lovely. And seeing Matthews unlock dormant areas of the brain reserved for extreme happiness was, well, notable I guess.

And they will stay the better team. Makar-Schaefer will be deadly for years. Celebrini will help lead the transition out of Sid. I have no concerns about where it’s headed for Hockey Canada. I’ll take efforts and performances like that one in big spots every single time.

They flew too close to the sun all tournament long. Injuries were obviously a huge factor. Not forging identity beyond the top line is the main source of regret. I’m not sure why that was such an issue for Jon Cooper. And yet when the chips were down they were the better team.
