every time I check in on the Flyers it seems like they’ve having the same season they’ve had since 2014 and I guess that’s why all the Flyers fans I know are like that.

@FlyersPucck Saw someone suggest Tippett for McTavish. If that happened they would ice one of the slowest teams in the cap era lol

If Briere decides to trade Tippett the return better be worth it because he’s the only game breaker the Flyers have in their lineup.

They have been good defensively, but still regressed from 2nd to 13th while sacrificing offense. They were good defensively under Torts but goalies couldn’t save a beach ball. Wingers play so low in the Dzone now so they don’t kill plays anymore & are unable to push pace of play
Bsmith692@bsmith692

@jceezz I think you’re underestimating how good this group is and has been defensively. I believe they have the wrong coach, but I think this roster and prospect pipeline is much further along than most on X believe.

Added Zegras/Dvorak but have regressed mightily. They just get saves now 2024-25 High Danger Shots For (3rd) High Danger Shots Against (2nd) Ersson Save Above Expected (47th) 2025-26 High Danger Shots For (32nd) High Danger Shots Against (13th) Vladar Save Above Expected (12th)

@jceezz I can’t stand toc and hated the hire but this is not true, flyers are top 5 in shots against and xga per 60. They are essentially elite at suppressing opposition shots and chances. The problem is they generate almost no offense. Need to find a better balance.

@phillygator1986 Would definitely be a better fit in Tocchet’s system. But it would be pretty shortsighted to move on from or acquire players based on systematic fit when coaches only have a shelf life of 2.38 years. Only makes sense if you’re a contender trying to win now.

The front office told the fans they weren’t going to do a tear down rebuild bc it takes 5+ years. The problem with that logic is, doing it the way they chose is going to take longer than 5 years bc when you’re picking in the teens those kids take 3-5 years to fully develop…
97.5 The Fanatic@975TheFanatic

Flyers President of Hockey Operations Keith Jones on if he is happy with the state of the rebuild for the Flyers: “I do, I think we all would love to rush it and make it happen quicker, but that’s not the way it is and the environment we’re in today. One of the things that we’re really happy about, is we are alleviating a lot of the cap pressure that we have had in the past. A lot of the deals that we had to work out of including the Kevin Hayes deal, the Ryan Ellis deal, the Cam Atkinson deal, all that money is starting to come off the books. That I’m really excited about, and that was one of the objectives Danny [Briere] and I had when we took over, was to clean up the [bad contracts]… The other part of it was to add younger talent and to accumulate draft picks, and we’re starting to put those picks into play. Allowing the players enough time to fully develop, not to rush them, but to watch them grow, and hope that our assessment of where they will end up in the future align and they’ll end up being a big parts of the franchise as we move forward. Those things I think are all in a really good place and I’m really excited about the future". (Kincade & Salciunas) 📸 - Emilee Chinn/Getty Images
