Happy Monday everyone! It's time to go back to work! To kick things off, here's the Monday Morning meta report video: youtube.com/watch?v=rXNpg3… Next, it's time to get ready for Patch 16.2 this week. Huzzah! Now to keep expectations in check, branch cut for this patch was way back in mid December. This means the changes we want to make from all the learnings over the break have to be done via our micropatch process, which we are doing today. We know everyone is hungry for a meaty patch right now, and we're doing our best to give that to you...but I want to lay out what to NOT expect, and will have to wait for 16.3. -Unlock changes: Since we can't loc these and change the Lorefinder, any unlock condition changes we want to do will need to wait until 16.3. -Complex Logic changes: Things like pathfinding for example require deeper code changes to improve and will need to wait. -System changes: If we want to adjust things like XP to 9, these need more time to get into the game. -Spell Reworks: Anything that would require a non number changes to a spells behavior will need to wait, especially since would need time to localize the spell text. -Augment Functionality: Much like spell reworks, any text changes on augments also need to wait. Again, this doesn't mean it's a small patch. The current version (which we are locking today) has changes to 8 traits, 26 champs, emblems/items/augments, and bug fixes. So it should be a healthy amount of improvement that I know we're all hungry for after the break. I'm hoping to get the patch rundown out tomorrow, and of course, the full patch notes will also be out. So yeah, exciting times! Ok, that's it for now. Good morning everyone. I hope you had a great weekend, and if you played PBE, your games were super fun! The team will be finalizing any A-patch changes we have before the launch on Wednesday. Any changes we decide, I will post about tomorrow. There will be some bigger balance changes, but overall not TOO many changes, as A-patching is always risky since it locks us out of the file, and our next full patch isn't until January. We'll need to be very smart about the changes we make this early. We still have windows to make other changes like a week from today for any B-patch changes before the Paris Open. As we head into the set launch, can I ask for 1 thing from all of you? This set is big, it's exciting, and there's a lot to try out. I also think the balance even on PBE hasn't been THAT far off (glares at Singed), and there's a TON of depth to this set and how you optimize your position, line recognition, and augment/item usage. So can we please refrain from jumping on the claims that the meta is solved for the first week, and relax on overreaction to someone discovering a line that works? We want so many champs and lines to be playable, and we're not going to be looking to nerf everything. Just enjoy the set launch and have fun discovering how to make the various lines work.
