I’m going to say something controversial. I don’t always follow people I agree with. And I don’t block people who don’t think like me.

@lyndonliskovec Yes. However lack of empathy can be reversed. When the underlying trauma is addressed and the nervous system is permitted to relax.

@jd_stephans It can indeed be natural to get more me-centric as a result of stressors... known self-preservation instinct. And this is some of how abuse can contribute to narcissism or sociopathy. I'd say the article lists lack of empathy as 1 key component of narcissism, which is standard.

Dear Internet, Can the next thing cancelled be the word, “Narcissist”? Sincerely, Peeved At The Lazy Overuse Of “Therapy Speech” (Peeved for short.)

Good morning! A quick note: you are worthy of love!

I truly believe I do not know much about the world and the more I learn the more I realize how little I truly know.

I just ate a chocolate almond I left on my car floor. If you don’t hear from me anymore, I took the big nap from eating a chocolate almond… and would 100% do it again.

I will not beg. I will not give ultimatums on losing my friendship. I will observe you. And I will cut the cord in silence accordingly.

If it means nothing to you and costs no effort, and everything to me, and your argument about a task that would’ve taken no energy and 10 seconds of effort is, “I can’t be bothered,” or “it doesn’t matter to me so why should I,” just be prepared when that energy is matched.
