How do they make so much hummus? You must need thousands of chickpeas just to make one of those big tubs. Are there really that many chickpeas out there?

@MattJBain @eeemmmiii @MattJBain, it's OK! At least you are getting outside. And they say walking is good for you - so ditch the cart once in a while. In any case, we are not really judging - much!😂

Tell me you are a middle aged (corporate) man without telling me you are one. “So, how many golf games are you fitting into your sabbatical?” 😂😂😂

@andrewjtodd What's woefully tragic is the lack of understanding of software engineering, in the software industry itself!

@andrewjtodd When your measure for success is delivering value, the skill expert's craft is the balance of speed with quality. Speed is the low-skilled generalist's proverbial hammer when optics are all you measure and understand.

@andrewjtodd The real question is always - what sort of a company is it? If you claim to run or work for a ‘software company’, then all your revenue, direct or indirect, is ultimately dependent on the quality (or lack of) your software.

One of my pet peeves is when people say they have seen/done something hundreds of times to gain trust & credibility. 🙄 I would be much more interested to hear JTBDs & HMWs, and learnings, rather than how ill fitted/rigid frameworks are implemented.

@eeemmmiii It’s particularly obnoxious when served up in word salads thrown together by ‘leaders’ who have never worked in actual Product Led software companies, ever. But hey, gotta keep up with the trends - amiright?! 🥴

Product led is such an overused term however you can absolutely smell from miles away when a sales led model is been implemented. Perhaps there are good success stories of sales led models in software businesses, but not for those aspires PLG. userguiding.com/blog/sales-led…

@eeemmmiii Yes! Unfortunately, it's a subtle yet irrefutable sign of a fixed mindset that has been fertilised by recurring application confirmation biases 🥴

📢 I'm sharing with my LinkedIn network that I am moving on from Iress. I've been made redundant - through an organisational restructure to go from discipline-based to product line operating model. There is no longer a need for a global design leader to o…lnkd.in/gF9QUqw5

Had always perceived sales-led to product-led being a sliding scale, but no, it is far more obvious than that. Especially when an organisation slides towards sales-led focus.

@RobertButera 💯 plus I bet there are ways to automatically assign a ‘decision index’ to the meeting by parsing the mtg notes. But I am not sure human brains can cope with knowing what a waste our lives at work are 😅

There should be a zoom plugin that looks up the salaries of all the attendees and then displays the cost of the meeting in real time.

@nickelliott @PrimeVideo Hmm! That’s worrisome. Just started watching it and I am into it now (two episodes in). Maybe I will look into the book too.

Disappointed with the ending of The Peripheral on @PrimeVideo - it just sort of fizzled out. Every episode before the last was excellent. Makes we want to go and read the book now though.
