@rileybrown_ai @cursor_ai Hi Riley. Very nice demo thank you. You made me want to use mic input in cursor. How did you enable mic input? Is it a cursor option or more like a general mac or windows app on top? I searched in cursor options with no luck so far. Thank you.

I built a web app using AI only in 18 minutes using using only @cursor_ai Composer (Claude) to generate the code. I deployed it with a custom domain and you can sign in and try it right now, and here's a video of the entire 18 minute process. If you already know how to get cursor set up with localhost or replit and firebase skip [00:38 - 04:40] 04:41 - First Cursor Prompt Steps i did in this video: - Opened a the @senior_swc template in Replit to kickstart the project - Connected Replit to Cursor via SSH for improved coding - Created a new Firebase project for backend functionality - Set up Firebase Authentication and Storage for the app - Implemented Google sign-in for user authentication in the app - Requested AI to generate initial app structure and features - Added user management functionality to the application interface - Created a task creation feature for adding non-negotiable tasks - Built a weekly view grid to display tasks for team members - Added color-coding for task status (blue, green, red) - Implemented hover functionality to display detailed task information - Refined UI with improved styling and layout adjustments - Deployed the completed application on Replit's hosting service - Purchased the domain for the app - Linked the custom domain to the Replit deployment DOMAIN: non negotiable tasks dot com --- I still think React tsx + tailwind is the best stack for web apps that DON'T include AI (if you want to code without seeing a line of code like me) Cursor is so much better at it than NextJS. And @Replit succeeded on the deployment ON THE FIRST try.

I strongly believe that if you're using LLMs to generate code, it's super super super important that you (human) can still: → understand the logic → analyze/verify the logic → modify the logic Otherwise you're automating the creation of LLM-flavored black boxes that become impossible to maintain.

Join me on twitch as I test WordPress packages : scripts and create-block. I'll build a plugin, a block, and see how I can manage the wordpress/scripts configuration globally instead of per folder. twitch.tv/jdmweb

Funny, that's also true for development teams. Take the questions you get, and write docs you can then send the next person a link too 😉.

If you're running a #WordPress product/service business, one of the best ways you can improve & speed up customer support is to start writing docs & support articles. Take the question you get by email and answer them in an article which you can send the next person a link too.

Continuing exploring #WordPress’ theme.json, I’ve done a new streaming session focused on #GlobalStyles. Usually, I work with themes that come with a full sass architecture so I was pretty unfamiliar with the global styles interface. Let's explore. jdmweb.com/wordpress-fse-…

@fabiankaegy @bgardner Would you have a code sample to share by any chance? I'm curious to see an implementation in context. Thank you.

@bgardner Yup they can if they use block supports or manually use the useSetting hook to implement it. So for example if a custom block adds supports.spacing.margin then you can set the margin of the block in theme.json Sadly it won’t show in the schema since that’s unaware of the block

"When people are just doing tasks, they aren't making a system that makes future tasks easier." I agree with @JadeRubick's analysis there. @jadeforrest/111182769888431777" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">tech.lgbt/@jadeforrest/1…

If you want to enhance your skills in modern #WordPress capabilities, follow this series. In the next stream, we'll explore #GlobalStyles interface and compare it with custom #SCSS architecture capabilities I'm familiar with. And you, do you prefer GlobalStyles or SCSS?

After weeks of working on advanced #Gutenberg, I went to revisit the fundamentals of the #SiteEditor. I focused on 3 topics: containers, font sizes, and spacings. Here's a summary of my latest session rebuilding a classic theme into a block theme: jdmweb.com/wordpress-fse-…

J'ai bien envie de tester d'exporter les variables en JSON pour les filtrer côté php pour que ça écrive le theme.json tout seul maintenant ^^.

6 months, that's roughly the time since my last tweet, but more importantly, it marks the first 6 months of my own company. What have I been up to during these past months? In a nutshell, I've been assisting around 10 companies in managing & streamlining their web production.

Lastly, I stepped in to rescue an abandoned #gravcms project when a vendor went out of business, revitalizing it, comprehending its intricacies, and ensuring a smooth handover to a new production partner.
