@CoachWinegar This is an interesting choice of words. It is impossible to not feel pain for your child when you have experienced what they are feeling. Empathy is critical, especially in sports and social situations. Joy is celebrating the achievements and sharing the struggle.

Too many sports parents let their JOY be determined by their child’s performance in a game. As a parent, I hope I never let my joy be impacted by whether my sons put a ball in a hoop. Don’t be the visibly uncomfortable parent because your kid is having a rough game.
