Have you ever met a person that's obviously very high IQ but simultaneously very dumb? The thing 100% of these people have in common is they don't read books

@FADCLDN @PaulbernalUK @Ian_Fraser This is for ‘new’ buildings only so existing biz ought not to be affected. Agree it’s such a waste of time and a distraction from the big things that actually matter

So yes, taking this decision very seriously.
With Caroline stepping down, I think Brighton needs and deserves a local, effective MP who knows it and loves it.
This is the only place I have ever considered representing…
Also, enjoying being described as a ‘singer’.

So, what's the ultimate prog house track? Gat Decor's "Passion". It's ironic that while prog was a reaction to piano house, its biggest tune had a big fuck-off piano in it. Play it this weekend – your crowd will love it.

@AnthonyTeasdale @Leftfield Just listened to that track on @spotify and it’s pitched a semitone down: open.spotify.com/track/4IdjLApI…

The tune that defines prog is the Hard Hands remix of @Leftfield "Not Forgotten". Ignored on its release in 1991, it seeps into the clubbing subconscious. Yes, it's "dubby" – the buzzword of the time – but it also has an incredible-on-E breakdown.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer speaks exclusively to Classic FM’s @AMinhall about his love of Beethoven, memories of playing the flute at Guildhall, and why he believes music should be prioritised in schools.

@bernhardsson Seems true of most advice that isn’t a hopelessly generic platitude.

Any other lawyers watching Black Mirror think that the lawyer advice in the first episode, "Joan is Awful," was the most unrealistic aspect of the plot??
[spoiler alert for this episode]
The lawyer that Joan speaks with tells her that there's nothing she can do about the @netflix -esque network surveilling her and sharing her life story as a serial drama because Joan had agreed to this when she signed up to watch the streaming service. ("I know. But you did accept it, so they're in the clear.")
Salma Hayek's (yes she's a character) lawyer also tells here there's absolutely nothing she can do about the contract she signed, even when the CGI version of Salma is shown defecating in a church.
These lawyers should have immediately realized that the outcome of the contract was unconscionable and there are plenty of arguments that should at least be tested in asserting their clients' rights. #lawtwitter #appellatetwitter @Clearbriefai #BlackMirrorS6 #BlackMirror

Most successful companies have a strong “cultural balance sheet”, the nuanced connections and Métis that’s been built up. Going remote you start drawing down on the balance sheet…everything seems fine until you’re eventually insolvent.
Paul Graham@paulg
Why were all these smart people fooled? Partly I think because remote work does work initially, if you start with a system already healthy from in-person work. (It's like communism in that respect.) And partly because it seemed to solve recruiting, which is always a bottleneck.

If Sunak is unlucky, all three seats could be won by MPs who wish to do him great political harm.

Three by elections now loom for Sunak: Nadine Dorries in Mid Beds (maj: 24,664) Boris Johnson in Uxbridge (maj: 7,210) Nigel Adams in Selby (maj: 20,137)

So, Sam Altman releasing a warning statement about AI - isn't that like if a Big Tobacco CEO would warn about smoking? (I get it, it's not, but still somewhat amusing) cnbc.com/2023/05/31/ai-…
