@TikiTakaConnor Disagree, he was enabled to do that because we had zero creativity or technical ability without Eze, MØ or even Merino there to offer an outlet. Just look at how important Bernardo was for them. As soon as that Eze news came out I was worried about this happening.

I think whoever played for Arsenal against Man City the result would have been the same. Pep absolutely schooled Arteta tactically. I’ve not seen us so restricted in a long time. So much to learn going into the Etihad match. All part of the process. Get behind the boys.

@demi_v We have got exactly what we paid for with him though. A £55m player. His goal contributions are absolutely fine for the investment, but anyone thinking we were buying an elite striker have their head in the sand. Alvarez in the summer please.

@JECook96 Don’t agree with this. You can count on one hand the amount of good performances from Gyokeres and far too many times it’s like playing with 10 men when he starts He has scored some important goals but any decent striker could have his output in this Arsenal team

Gyok was as poor as anybody else today, why are we singling him out? Havertz was just as bad, if not worse. Just 5 days ago Gyok was outstanding in a game where we got through to the last 8 of the Champions League. We need to stop this flip flopping.

By no means has he been the only bad Arsenal player today but we need to discuss Gyok in detail end of the season. He's a non-entity in big games. The will be 180 minutes against City where he can't even get a single shot at goal

Anyway, enough moping. What’s done is done and we can’t change that now. All we can do is look forward and we still have an unbelievable chance of doing something incredibly special this season. Dust ourselves down, go again and let’s see what happens. We’re still a great team.

This is, dare I say, where you want Ødegaard available so he can pick up the ball in deeper areas and build our attack from the back. It’s a trait of his that normally really frustrates me, but it would have been a really useful outlet today.

Just to put things into perspective - This is our first loss in cup games all season. - This is our fourth loss all season. We are in March. - We are still 9 points ahead of City with just 7 games to go. Don’t let one bad performance and result change the fact we are very very close to achieve something special this season. Use this loss as a fuel to win the rest of the games.

That was second half was disgracefully bad. Borderline embarrassing. I worried about lack of creativity when we had no Eze or MØ, but my god we offered next to nothing. What a way to make the compete wrong statement. How did we not even test Khusanov and Ake once? Awful.

I feel like he’s only just starting to fully integrate into the team now, but whatever we achieve this season will have been with him primarily playing as our number 10 which is a huge credit to him. 15 goal contributions and counting, it’s been a solid debut season.

Eberechi Eze's move to Arsenal has been a classic case of an attacking player swapping an environment where he has a lot of creative freedom, to a structure where he isn't the biggest fish. Whilst I don't think he's been one of Arsenal's best players, he's certainly provided A LOT of moments for a debut season at a new club. 23 League and Champions League starts... in which he's contributed an assist vs Man City, 5 goals vs Tottenham and scored a crucial long range goal vs Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last 16. It's not been perfect, but I think if you'd told him that's what he'd achieve in his first season, having signed in the final week of the window... He'd 100% have taken that.

So much to love about tonight, but that Gyok performance was utterly exceptional. Didn’t score, but I’d go as far as saying that’s his best game for us. Lead the line brilliantly, connected so well with his teammates. Unlucky to not have a few assists his name.
