This pandemic has shown me that... Early adopters of bitcoin are NOT risk takers. - They are good at identifying macro risks. - They are extreme preppers. - They are willing to hold hedges to protect themselves despite price volatility, uncertainty, or social acceptance.

Spent a good chunk of the day going down the THORChain + Monero rabbit hole. Started with simple questions like “why didn’t they integrate privacy coins sooner?” and ended up learning the full technical flow: SGX enclaves running full Monero nodes, FROST threshold signatures so no single node ever holds the private key, one-time stealth addresses, encrypted confirmations, and how the enclave only verifies the deposit while staying blind to the swap destination. The more I understood, the more I realized something deeper. THORChain privacy vaults and Monero mining are both largely driven by pure conviction, not economics. THORChain node operators are paying $2,000–$3,000/month out of pocket, bonding six-figure RUNE, earning barely enough to break even (or less), and still keeping the nodes online. Monero miners have an almost symbolic tail emission and have been grinding for years with very little financial upside. They’re not doing it for quick profits. They’re doing it because they genuinely believe in decentralized, private, censorship-resistant infrastructure. In a world full of hype, airdrop farmers, and short-term traders, watching people quietly sacrifice time and money for their principles is genuinely inspiring. Huge respect to the THORChain node runners and the Monero community. Real belief is rare these days. Hope I can contribute something as part of the community by making @kyc_rip a new home for both worlds. #Monero #THORChain #PrivacyMatters #Conviction

@pick_picture @imidaily If the 10 year rule passes, it's more like 15 years with 2-3 years til initial permit and then another 2-3 years waiting for the citizenship application to go through.

🇵🇹Portugal Golden Visa with a 13-year path to citizenship will not be competitive. The EU has plenty of other nice countries offering investor residency for less. And unlike Portugal, they process applications in MONTHS rather than YEARS.

I’m getting a sense that after this recent interview circuit, Elon said “alright fuck this, hold my beer” and activated his level 99 mage technologist skills. Dude had been real quiet on X recently. I’m thinking he’s about to be on the most epic dungeon run of his career. Your puts are going to be fucked like never before

Eric Schmidt says intelligence is about to decouple from us. “The computers are now doing self-improvement.. They don’t have to listen to us anymore.” Within six years: a mind smarter than the sum of humans -- scaled, recursive, free. We have no language for what’s coming.

@DouglasTuman @IanNiculescu @CraftyPirate @PeterSchiff TL;DR: Currency is a specific type of Money. Monero is P2P Money but is maybe not Currency. Peter is suggesting he would be more comfortable with a gold reserve backing Monero for him to consider it "Money," but he probably means Currency in that context.

He's definitely still stuck in his thinking that "gold backing" means something. Additionally, he's confusing the definition of money vs currency here (which is super common). "Money is a medium of exchange with various functions and forms; whereas, Currency refers to the physical or tangible form of money issued by a government or central authority for use as legal tender within a particular jurisdiction." He's implying at the end that he wishes Monero would also incorporate gold backing. While there's no economic problem with someone backing Monero with gold, there is a significant logistical issue. First off, Monero is not centrally issued. But, let's say someone wanted to donate a gold to create a reserve for Monero anyway. Any fixed ratio of Monero to physical gold redemption would be centrally managed and would go against the principles of censorship resistance, anonymity (the reserve owner needs to be known), and decentralization. It would be a weak link and something that one shouldn't rely on for value anyway. It would be a cool feature to have while those providing the physical gold custody and exchange are still trusted. In the end, you would still expect that centralized gold reserve operator to eventually disappear with the gold backing either by choice or by force.

It happened ! @CraftyPirate got @PeterSchiff to give us his take on Monero !!! @CraftyPirate great job! Love how you kept it so based that you refused to tell Peter the price of Monero in fiat terms lol. Peter Schiff confirmed that if crypto has any utility it is being able to send value digitally without censorship or surveillance. Untraceable digital cash. Peter rightly believed Bitcoin does not fulfill this use case, but that it appears Monero does! His final snag is that he doesn’t see how Monero could be Money if it Monero’s have no utility beyond being money. “You can’t smoke a Monero”. @PeterSchiff please consider joining me on a @MoneroTalk to discuss further. 🙏 there is a lot more to be said regarding Monero and why it can be (is) money. @CraftyPirate would love to have you on the show too! Even if we don’t get Peter. Please DM me. Great work!! 🙌

btw, to the earnest builders out there who have been hiding, timid, under rocks and behind trees to avoid Sauron's Eye... it's safe now. That cool idea you had, on which you seek so readily to stake your capital and reputation because you believe in your bones that it deserves the pursuit... go make it happen. The environment is, to a substantial degree, safe again for that great impulse toward creation.
