Was reading a post between @DavidLimbaugh and noted music critic @JesseKellyDC about Jim Croce last night, which prompted me to go over to Youtube and listen to a few of his songs I enjoyed in my youth. My favorite was "Operator" and I always assumed it involved some broken relationship in his past. Thanks to the miracle of modern AI, I learned today that wasn't the case at all. Croce had joined the National Guard while in school, hoping to keep himself out of going to Vietnam, but ended up getting called up almost immediately and had to report to the Carolinas. In trying to call home to his wife Ingrid one night, he did what everybody did at the time: stand in line at a payphone waiting to insert a dime and have 3 minutes to say what you had to say. It was while waiting he overheard conversations of several other soldiers engaged in "Dear John"-like communications with their girl back home, and a combination of those sad stories became the lyrics for "Operator." Which I never knew...

A White firefighter in Wisconsin saved a Black man who was overdosing on drugs. After being revived, the Black man immediately pulled a gun and shot the White man who had just rescued him dead. Mainstream media didn’t report this incident, as it doesn’t fit their narrative.

In 1995, 45% of British milk was delivered to the doorstep before seven in the morning by a milkman in an electric float. In 2026, it is 3%. The milkman has been effectively abolished inside one human generation. The supermarket walked in, undercut the cost by a few pence per pint, and the daily ritual of British household life, glass bottles clinking on the step at half past six, was gone by the time the children of 1995 had finished secondary school. The cost to the customer was a few pence per pint. The cost to the system was, in rough order: the glass bottle that was washed and reused hundreds of times, replaced with a plastic bottle that is used once and recycled imperfectly. The local dairy that supplied one town, replaced with a national processor that supplies half the country. The milk that arrived four hours after milking, replaced with milk that arrived three days after milking after a journey of 200 miles. The conversation on the doorstep, replaced with a self-checkout beep. The milkman himself, incidentally, had the lowest recorded rate of heart disease of any male occupation in Britain. He walked approximately 12 miles a day, finished work by 10am, and ate a cooked breakfast. He has been replaced, in the same delivery role, by a zero-hours Amazon Flex driver sitting in a Ford Transit. A small piece of British daily infrastructure was quietly demolished. Nobody was consulted. The milk is still being produced. It is just being produced further away, transported further, kept in plastic, and sold at a different margin, by a different business, to a customer who never sees who milked the cow. The milkman knew your name. The self-checkout does not.

Starmer says it was an error and he's apologised. Kanye West apologised, people who said stuff on social media after Southport apologised, their apologies werent good enough according to Starmer. Kanye West was refused entry into the UK, many people went to prison for social media posts so why is Starmers apology good enough when in reality what he did was far more serious?

❌Why people detest Spanberger 🏴She's crossing VA chirping about a "temporary" gerrymander -- that will disenfranchise millions for years 🏴She keeps celebrating deals done / funded during Youngkin w/out mentioning him #Dishonest x.com/GovernorVA/sta…

Celebrated Eaton’s $50 million investment in Virginia! Eaton is more than doubling its footprint in our Commonwealth — bringing 200 new jobs to Henrico County. Because businesses can invest in Virginia with confidence.

🚨 JUST IN: Outrage is erupting after the Supreme Court suffers ANOTHER LEAK, now to the liberal New York Times And the leaks tend to go AGAINST CONSERVATIVES. Imagine that. Who is doing this?! FIRE THE LEAKER. "There are disgruntled people, that elections have consequences...people are willing to bypass traditions and protocol of the Supreme Court, and endanger its future by leaking out things to the general public who don't have the context." "3 major leaks over the last 4 years, which is UNHEARD of for the US Supreme Court." "Dobbs [abortion leak] — the justices faced VIOLENCE at their homes! AG Garland didn't enforce the law at the time to stop the protestors at their homes." Leaks tend to happen before big decisions are made. Could this be to attack SCOTUS before the VRA ruling, which would harm Democrats?

Beyond belief that the Sheriffs in counties that were ravaged by Hurricane Helene & whose deputies saved so many lives were not invited to Gov Spanberger’s “preparedness” event. She is silencing rural Virginia- No Emergency Response Voice, No Congressional Voice. Vote NO on 4/21!

If the Virginia gerrymander passes, it will award FIVE Congressional seats to Fairfax County, letting one county lord over the citizens of the rest of the state. It would silence millions of Virginians. Rep. Ben @Cline4Virginia of says vote NO in Virginia on Tuesday, April 21st.

If you are an American residing in this country, the most important thing in the world is making sure these people don’t come back to power. Nothing else is a close second. Everything should be focused on that because everything is at stake.

Fox: Why should 90% of Virginia's congressional delegation be Democrats when Kamala Harris only won the state by 5 points? Kaine: "90% of Virginians are not Democrats. That's true... but we need a congressional delegation that will stand up to Donald Trump's tyranny."

Someone broke into a Northern California falconry education and conservation center early Friday and intentionally released all of its birds, several of which are still missing and at risk, according to West Coast Falconry. Staff at the falconry — located about 40 miles north of Sacramento in Marysville — found the premises vandalized and all 11 birds set free. The intruder or intruders destroyed equipment and merchandise, and released the birds by cutting gear from their legs and removing them from their enclosures, “leaving them to fend for themselves,” the organization said. “These birds are not wild — they are trained and rely on human care,” West Coast Falconry said in a Facebook post. “Releasing them in this condition puts them at serious risk of injury or death.” Four birds were still missing as of midday Sunday: Walter, a great horned owl; Cubbie, a peregrine falcon; Amadon, a barn owl; and Cora, a dark-morph red-tailed hawk who is blind in one eye. The center said it was actively working to locate and recover the missing raptors, and asked for help from nearby residents to look out for birds who are “unusually comfortable around people.” People should not approach the raptors, but instead should report any sightings to West Coast Falconry. 📸: Courtesy of West Coast Falconry
