I was annoyed at America's lack of preparedness. Some Americans thought Japanese were too near sighted to shoot straight. That their bullets were non-lethal to Americans. Americans should be angry that we got caught with our pants down. We assumed a Shinto country would recognize Sunday as a holy day, and respect America's traditions. Had Roosevelt not instituted an embargo. The attacks on US and British territories would not have happened. Mao Zedong would not have happened. Much is made of the Communists marching "heroically" to western China tobavoid the Japanese, leaving Nationalist forces to take the brunt of it. I think a Japanese-Chinese Nationalist treaty could have been worked out. Indochina would be in Japanese hands today. No Ho Chi Minh.
