What began with individuals shouting racial and religious abuse at members of our faith inside Webb House has now escalated further. Last night, individuals gathered outside Webb House, a Grade II listed building, and were seen physically attacking the gates once again in an apparent attempt to damage the property. The footage is deeply disturbing. The situation escalated even further when fireworks were reportedly set off within the grounds of the property. This reckless act posed a serious risk to the safety of residents and neighbouring homes. Fireworks used in this manner have the potential to cause injury, panic, and significant property damage. Equally concerning were comments reportedly made during TikTok livestreams, including statements such as: "Next time we won't say when we will bring fireworks." Such remarks can reasonably be interpreted as threatening and contribute to an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. Despite a police presence, members of our community remain concerned by the limited intervention while these incidents unfolded. No person should be subjected to harassment, threats, racial abuse, property attacks, or intimidation because of their faith. No neighbourhood should have to endure this behaviour. We urge local residents to remain vigilant, prioritise their safety, and report any incidents, threats, or suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities immediately. We continue to call for calm, lawful conduct, and the protection of all residents, neighbours, and members of our community.
