@DNVR_Nuggets @Eurohoopsnet I don’t think everyone knows the order of events required. We can’t do anything until the trade is finalized. If don’t play this right, we are screwed and we lose leverage with VJ (and maybe Al!). Glad I get my info from “THE” DNVR show.

Denver has informed Jonas Valanciunas' reps that the franchise fully intends to have him honor his contract as the Nuggets view Valanciunas as a critical center addition to back up Nikola Jokic and play alongside him. Greek team Panathinaikos pursued Valanciunas in recent days.

Valančiūnas indeed arrived in Greece earlier this weekend to meet with Panathinaikos officials but he cannot sign with the EuroLeague team unless he is released from his NBA contract, which Denver will acquire Sunday from Sacramento in a swap for Dario Šarić.

Anyone watching this team for the last two years (not windy) and saying the upgrades the Nuggets made are ‘marginal’ or that they squandered their last asset for a non-star just don’t get what this team needs.

Just a shot in the dark here, but I do not think the Nuggets are going to take $23 million in dead cap space over two seasons just to do JV a solid. EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize next year is non-guaranteed. I still don't think the Nuggets are just going to be cool with $10 mil in dead cap.
