@nickwebb2017 Not sure about the nick Nick but that LBW was barely hitting a second set of stumps ! Hope we haven’t used a season’s good fortune up in 1 game. Great win, start of a charge maybe ? Side now looks balanced

🏏Memorable night for Glamorgan with everything going their way as they raced to 175-3 to beat Somerset with 6 overs in hand. Kiran Carlson memories of his record knock, fine bowlers’ fightback led by Nathan McAndrew & Mason Crane, and Jimmy Neesham playing just off the plane!💥

@henrywinter Oh bugger off Henry, you’re coming across as pious, you’re better than that. I think it’s quite complimentary to say that when it comes to ‘cheating’ Saints are bloody crap at it. They could not have handled this any worse BUT the punishment did not match the crime, end of.

Jeepers, peepers, Southampton lose appeal. Correct decision. Cheating is cheating. Hull City will play Middlesbrough in Saturday’s Championship play-off final at 3.30pm at Wembley. Time for some contrition and reflection at St Mary’s. Time for reimbursing their fans and rebuilding their damaged reputation. Must be doubts over Tonda Eckert’s job now.

Robin Williams covering The Beatles feels almost surreal. George Martin assembled an unexpectedly eclectic lineup for the album In My Life, bringing together actors and comedians to reinterpret songs by The Beatles. One of the most memorable moments came from Robin Williams and Bobby McFerrin performing Come Together, transforming the classic into a wildly improvised and completely unexpected rendition.

@henrywinter Grass roots managed it significantly at youth level, with respect initiatives, parent codes of conduct etc. in the lower pro leagues there’s still an ‘honesty’ that is indefinable but tangible. I’m afraid it’s at the top end which is awash with too much £££ where cheating is rife

.... diving, feigning injury, appealing for corners or throw-ins that aren’t yours, is all cheating. Even time-wasting is a form of cheating. So much is good about football - competition, community, characters - but the cheating needs tackling. Column 2/2 open.substack.com/pub/henrywinte…

The outrage about Spygate is understandable. If proven, it’s cheating. It’s seeking to gain a sporting advantage over an opponent. Let’s hope this ire is also now focused on other varieties of cheating in football, namely the amount of deceit that can stain games... 1/2

@GlamCricket Kellaway wicket was one too many, I fear Somerset favourites now but you never know. Whilst I’m here anyone else think Kingram’s dismissal was going down leg ? He’s had 2 iffy calls from umpires seemingly happy to keep their hands warm in pockets

@EdBevanCricket @BumbleCricket @robphillipshere Was there Ed and agree it was the best ‘live’ innings I’ve ever seen, another to agree was the Hants skipper Mark Nicholas who still calls it the finest innings he ever witnessed. A cap wearing Viv hooking his mate the speedy M.Marshall for consecutive sixes lives long in memory

@robphillipshere Best innings I saw at Northlands Road was Viv Richards' 164 no as Glamorgan chased down 367 to win- Viv striking the great Malcolm Marshall into th flats for 6 to win the game.

One of the great British ads that is basically a clip from the film Ice Cold In Alex. Starring John Mills, Sylvia Syms, Anthony Quayle & Harry Andrews. Retreating from Tobuk & they crave a beer in Alexandria in Egypt. It tool 14 takes to get right & the cast was Brahms & Liszt.

This from @Geoffrey_Cox was titanic - a truly beautiful speech. He outshone those sat opposite. They could only watch. And nervously laugh. This should be seen by every new MP to understand what they do, & every new barrister to understand what we do.

Did you know? The crocodilian phallus is an unpaired organ that is normally hidden inside the longish cloacal slit. It consists of a cone-like process of the anterior ventral cloacal septum and can reach 20 cm of length in some crocodiles.

What a damning image this is. Rugby in Wales will soon be spoken of primarily in the past tense only, like chapel, choirs and the mines. With dwindling player numbers in youth rugby and no heavily invested public school system like England, Scotland or Ireland, there's no revival
