Could Trump be criminally liable for inciting the #January6th insurrection? Find the answer in a just-published article I co-authored (w/ @micazriel), titled "“We Fight Like Hell”: Applying Brandenburg to Trump’s Speech Surrounding the U.S. Capitol Siege" crimlawpractitioner.org/post/we-fight-…

@S_Fitzpatrick @TheAtlantic Posting fake buIIshit like this without evidence should have real consequences for propagandists.

EXCLUSIVE @TheAtlantic On multiple occasions Patel’s security detail had difficulty waking him because he was seemingly intoxicated, according to info supplied to DOJ and White House officials. A request for “breaching equipment”was made because Patel had been unreachable behind locked doors. theatlantic.com/politics/2026/…

@BananasRepub @ABC Steals? That's ridiculous. No party can claim ownership over any one congressional district. There will still be competitive elections. If you have an issue with redistricting, take it up with Texas and the SCOTUS which effectively validated partisan gerrymandering last year.

EXCLUSIVE: Former President Barack Obama, in a video shared exclusively with ABC News, called on Virginians to vote in favor of a redistricting measure that could give Democrats a boost in the 2026 midterms if it passes. abcnews.link/EEAMkvM

Also in @WSJ today, a story about what American Catholics think about @Pontifex and @POTUS.
This is my least favorite sort of “news”
story. There are more than 50 million Catholics in America. (Maybe 15% attend weekly Mass?) So it’s simply not possible to say “What Catholics Think About…”
Like every other America, every Catholic is unique and either cares about religion and/or politics, or doesn’t. Those who care are spread out across the political spectrum. While media has to churn out stories, editors should reject “What Catholics think” stories. They are necessarily wrong, especially when they start quoting random Catholics as indicative about, well, anything having to do with all or even most Catholics.
What a bishop or the Conference of Bishops says or writes, what the Knights of Columbus says or writes, what @CatholicVote says or writes, are facts. Those things can be reported. “What Catholics think” is just nonsense and usually poorly disguised agenda-journalism.
Some basic facts about U.S. Catholics are in last year’s report from @pewresearch (link in replies). The Pope is generally popular among Catholics of my acquaintance as is President Trump. They have very different jobs. Pray for them both.

Schulz: Why would Trump bring a grandma that needs to work DoorDash? Don't we wanna live in a country where grandmas don't have to work DoorDash? What kind of delusional reality are we living in, where Trump is parading around the grandma that's working DoorDash so she can afford to pay her husband's cancer bills?

Vance has now seized the top seat in the Death of Expertise Hall of Fame: He has lectured the pope—the pope, the leader of a billion and a half Catholics—about being too sloppy with theology.

This is the most iconic video of the day 👏
Newly elected Hungarian 🇭🇺 PM Péter Magyar visits the state broadcaster channel after more than 15 months and schools the anchor like a boss.
“ You boycotted me, abused me , even dragged my children to defame me, you stopped inviting me, the leader of the largest opposition party, it is good to be back here”
Anchor immediately started apologising and pleading.
Pèter responded by saying “ It is okay, I have no personal resentment, it is the system that we need to fix”
What a comeback, What a story, What a man.

It's interesting that Mike Johnson is citing Just War Doctrine. Because Trump's Secretary of War Crimes, Pete Hegseth, is arguably in direct violation of some of its most basic tenets:
newrepublic.com/article/208322…

Aaron Rupar@atrupar
Mike Johnson says the Pope had it coming: "A religious leader can say anything they want, but obviously if you wade into political waters, you should expect some political response and I think the Pope has received some of that. Frankly I was taken a bit aback by him saying something about 'those who engage in war, Jesus doesn't hear their prayers' or something. There's something called the 'just war' doctrine.'"
