You go back in time and join the Military again, but you're forced to choose a different branch. Which one do you pick?

@MLJHaynes So basically we either will burn in Hell or burn when nuclear war comes to the West?

Pope Leo XIV writes that the Catholic teaching on Just War Theory “is now outdated” “Today, more than ever, without prejudice to the right to self-defense in the strictest sense, it is important to reaffirm that the 'just war' theory, which has all too often been used to justify any kind of war, is now outdated.” Details on @PelicanCatholic

@TaylorRMarshall Sorry, I just don’t care what comes out of Rome anymore. The diocese of Owensboro just cancelled the only TLM in the diocese which was such a blessing for my family. I might start paying attention when Rome doesn’t actively work against my salvation.

🚨 Pope Leo’s new encyclical on AI has been out for less than 24 hours: Many of us are still reading it and checking the footnotes. Don't be tempted to accept every “hot take” or to fall into a doom spiral.

@breeadail Sorry, I am not really enthused to read this. We got the letter from the diocese that the TLM that my family attends is being prohibited after June 30th.

VATICAN CITY—Pope Leo XIV has published his first encyclical, MAGNIFICA HUMANITAS, on the 135th anniversary of his namesake’s encyclical on the Industrial Revolution. The focus? Artificial Intelligence. READ IT HERE: vatican.va/content/leo-xi…

@emzanotti I might be inclined to listen if the US church did this with its own workers. My wife and family found out the hard way that working for the church gives you almost no legal protection for workers.

@LibertyCappy There might be some good things happening that take time, but the administration is terrible at communicating this, so the only thing that really affects me is higher prices.

This ain't going to be fixed because you insist on tariffs. It's multi-generational broken. Blame it on the short-term quarterly earnings mentality.

.@PalmerLuckey: American companies don't actually have engineers anymore. "American companies have been hollowed out." "We're not teaching engineers how to be engineers anymore." "We're not teaching designers how to actually design things to be manufactured." "We're teaching them how to be high-level design shops that put together a design package, that gets sent to the real engineers in China—and they actually figure out how to do the work." "People are turning into architecture astronauts." "They pick components, and they put them in a nominal layout." "But the real work of—how am I actually going to put this together? How am I going to build a manufacturing line to make this? How am I going to need to figure out how to do the one, two, three, four, five different revisions of this board to pass radio emissions and interference standards? That's all done in China. So they are the real engineers." Via @HooverInst

@lukei4655 Most of the American church rejects the dignity of workers for its own staff. Obiedience need to be across the board if that is something Catholics need to abide by.

We need heat shields to protect us, since we use the air to slow us down as we return to Earth. From orbital speed, it gets to 1650°C / 3000°F. From the Moon: 2750°C / 5000°F. For yesterday's Starship suborbital test flight, peak was 1450°C / 2600°F. Great to see the @SpaceX progress over the last 3 flights. Making them truly reusable is complex and necessary for permanent, cheap space access. image compilation: @niccruzpatane

@Buckeye19777483 @JeffCassman I’m not the one who advised someone to leave the RCC, that was you. This is an act of schism that you literally just did. Please pray for contrition and seek reconciliation asap.

@jeffreyakent @JeffCassman Well that's the direction the SSPX seems to be taking and you seem to agree with them. By not submitting to Rome you might as well be Protestant. Nice way to move the goal post though.

The on-campus game experience is college football’s best and most unique feature. No other sport, college or pro, has anything remotely like that If we’re just going play these games in a sterile, domed neutral site that fans hate, then what the hell is the point of this sport?

@Buckeye19777483 @JeffCassman Telling someone to go to hell isnt a very charitable response. Wanting Rome to do better shouldn’t invoke that reponse from any faithful Christian. I will pray for your conversion.

@Buckeye19777483 @JeffCassman Why should only the SSPX be held to your high standard? The US church, by and large, doesn’t even follow Pope Leo XIII’s teachings on the rights of workers. Should Rome excommunicate most of the US church?

@JeffCassman @jeffreyakent Then let the Holy Spirit handle it and in the meantime obey. The SSPX hasn't committed Heresy... yet. The Church hasn't committed Heresy because it can't.

Gee, it’s almost as if the character of a leader matters after all – as if a corrupt and preternaturally narcissistic and vindictive pathological liar is not in fact a suitable instrument through whom to advance good causes and build a lasting movement. Who could have guessed?
Erick Erickson@EWErickson

You’re not going to like it, but here’s the harsh truth: Trump would rather use taxpayer money to relitigate the 2020 election and January 6th through an “anti-weaponization” fund than focus on winning the midterms.

@Buckeye19777483 @JeffCassman Obviously it isn’t up to me, because my number one priority in any decision would be the salvation of souls. Too many of the Church leadership seem to not care about the Church’s primary mission.

@jeffreyakent @JeffCassman I see. YOU don't see a reason. It ain't up to you buddy. It is up to the Church. Which, regardless of how bad the Bishops and Pope may be, the Holy Spirit will protect from doctrinal error.

@Buckeye19777483 @JeffCassman I don’t see a good reason for the Vatican to not give them bishops. Kind of wish the Vatican would make all its decisions with the salvation of souls as the number one priority.
