@WeAreMessiFC@NK__CR7@InterMiamiCF@RoyalCaribbean "We do feel a bit scammed by the club because we paid". This sentence was used in the news. Apology if I did not pass it on accurately. As I replied in other posts, the organizer might also need to take responsibilities. So far they have not clarified on the contract yet.
@assassin50489@NK__CR7@InterMiamiCF@RoyalCaribbean It does not have to be an agenda. The fact says itself:

He is just not respectful to his fans, given that you deem HK fans are also fans (no discrimination). No prior communication, no smile, no interaction, no apology.
@NK__CR7@InterMiamiCF@RoyalCaribbean Come on. At least he showed up in the field. A few days ago he did not even bother tip his toes into the field in HK. Also he smiled too, right? In HK, he was sulking all the time even though his fans were eagerly expecting.
Three days after soccer star Lionel Messi's messy no-show fiasco in Hong Kong, the backlash has not cooled down. Instead, much more disappointment and anger were aroused when the Argentine star, who looked impassive and reluctant in Hong Kong, immediately adopted a contradictory demeanor in Japan. globaltimes.cn/page/202402/13…
Still trying to shun away from the real problem. The issue here is not about “no play”, rather, him and the club did not communicate it prior to the kick off and also his disrespectful manner towards fans at the end of the game.
@centregoals It is understandable that players get injuries. But why didn’t he communicate this prior to the kick off? The injury was preventing him from interacting with fans too? Both the club and Messi himself still try to shun away from the real problem. Simply disrespectful to fans.
@Shahzad82422988@BBCSport I think this is a PR crisis the club (and maybe himself) has to handle anyway. If you read what I replied in your other post and grasp the point: it is not about sitting on the bench during the whole game. Rather, it is about the no communication and no respect to fans.
@BBCSport It's unfortunate that Lionel Messi had to defend himself over missing a pre-season friendly. Fans should understand players' commitments and scheduling challenges.
@Shahzad82422988@BBCSport 3/3. On the contary, the fans showed enough respect already until the last 15 minutes when knowing they were “scammed” by their idol. The post did not describe the whole timeline and left out critical details. It misleads the readers that the fans were not respectful.
@BBCSport It's crucial for fans to remember that players, even legendary ones like Messi, have demanding schedules and commitments beyond the pitch. Mutual respect between players and supporters is essential for a positive sporting environment.
@Shahzad82422988@BBCSport 2/3. What put the fans down is: after the game he did not even bother waving and interact the fans in the field, knowing that ppl paid high priced ticket just to see him. At lesst from the surface, he did not show any respect to the fans.
@Shahzad82422988@BBCSport 1/3. I totally agree with you on that mutual respect point. But this time it was a bit different situation. The club confirmed that Messi will at least show up before the kickoff. It was only after the first half that they suddenly declared that Messi would not play.
Why didn’t Messi play in Hong Kong or participate in the handshake with HK chief executive?
And why did he smile, run freely and looked fit in Japan?⚽️
Many Chinese fans bought high-priced tickets&went to HK specifically for Messi. They deserve a formal explanation & apology.
