If you want to look beyond the gun control debate, consider that the Secret Service found that in incidents such as #Columbine 75% of attackers showed warning signs so if authorities can be alerted ahead of an incident, they can maybe stop it.

Eric Harris is seen as the #Columbine leader and Dylan Klebold the follower. The bottom line is, both of them planned that day out, both fired their guns, and both are equally to blame.

Accounts of #Columbine shooters Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold being bullied include sometimes friend Brooks Brown: who wrote in his book:“They would knock our food trays onto the floor, trip us, or throw food as we were walking by.”

Many of the #Columbine killings and injuries were random – in other words, someone was in the wrong place at the wrong time when the bullets started flying. But the killers, in their writings and on the day of the shootings, expressed a disdain for jocks and preppies

The #Columbine killers were not members of the clique of outcasts, the Trench Coat Mafia, but were inspired by them to lash out at what they saw as an oppressive, unfair system symbolized by the school.

@writerkev @JesseAPaul And as I recall that was not to necessarily receive any records but just to have the sheriff review them to see if they would release anything.

@JesseAPaul Coming up on the 21st anniversary of this story @jeffrkass and I wrote at the Rocky: When the Rocky Mountain News asked for Sheriff John Stone's e-mails and other correspondence, Jefferson County's attorneys answered not with a ``yes'' or a ``no'' but with a number: $1,072,000.

via @NYTimes Most damaging wildfire in Colorado history, in terms of property, was also the closest to my home - in the suburbs. Devastating. And I really value working as part of this team, to help cover it. nytimes.com/2021/12/31/us/…
