Evaluated some reading resources today. The word “Nip” was used as a name for a character on the cover and throughout the text. In the 70’s, I was called this name in primary school as though I had the plague. Once you’ve experienced racism, you never forget it.

On #IWD2021 what is something you were told not to do by a man in your workplace? I’ll go first. In 1972, teaching in 2 teacher school, cold winters in north west of NSW, I wanted to wear (what was then a pants suit) and the principal, said “no, I like to look at women’s legs”

Where are the good leaders? The ones who have strength, humility, grace, and integrity in equal measure? The ones who lead without moralising, who engage in genuine complexity, and who are genuinely wise? Where are the good leaders?

Here’s to all educators for a job well done in 2020 in a “not so ordinary” year!
