@QuantumTech_X Engines will never be ‘optional’. When these behemoths arrive near a port, they need to slow down to zero then use engines to enter and manoeuvre to their berths. Also, dead calm at sea is not uncommon.

Cargo ships are sailing with the wind again!! as long as there is wind, the ship can cut it’s fuel use by nearly half ! are engines becoming optional?
