I am not sure that it’s appreciated just how terrifying things are for the charities sector right now. Multiple announcements just this week about how many are closing/ scaling back services. Ones that are saving lives every day in so many different ways

@KirstieMAllsopp A few years ago I had to ‘prove’ my identity to the same small company of solicitors 3 times in a year! Even the receptionist agreed it was nonsense.

Humour can be helpful in many ways – but some jokes can be hurtful, cruel and unnecessary. If you experience ignorant comments or unkind jokes, you may feel like you want to correct or educate the person making them. Here are some of our tips to help: spkl.io/6018AfJnp

@LloydCymru I'm trying to understand the system and how seats will be allocated. Can't understand how with 6 seats per constituency one party in Torfaen/ Monmouth is putting forward 7 named candidates?

Instead of being ashamed of our wounds, maybe it's okay to admit they exist. The limp shows we are real.

@glamvicar @LucyGoBag Absolutely… I’m an Anglican Priest and have had many conversations with people who want to keep things ‘simple’ .. there are many ways to do this that also allow families to say an appropriate goodbye.

@LucyGoBag @jer63 And also that a local church minister will work with a family to provide a simple but dignified farewell beforehand, and can help if you are genuinely struggling with the cost

Before you sign up for Direct Cremation as something that makes life easier for your family please ask the provider some crucial questions. Where will you be taken when you die? How long will you be left? Are your family ok with no access to you? Where will the cremation be?…

Death is always lurking. We see it in violence, in the wounds of the world, in the cry of pain that rises from every corner because of the abuses that crush the weakest among us, because of the idolatry of profit that plunders the earth’s resources, because of the violence of war that kills and destroys. #Easter

Even today there are tombs to be opened, and often the stones sealing them are so heavy and so closely guarded that they seem to be immovable. Some weigh heavily on the human heart, such as mistrust, fear, selfishness and resentment; others, stemming from these inner struggles, sever the bonds between us through war, injustice and the isolation of peoples and nations. Let us not allow ourselves to be paralyzed by them! #Easter

What would it mean to choose silence and solitude today, on Holy Saturday? buff.ly/vshQkED “The most universal spiritual practice found in all the world religions… is silence.… We're all being given an opportunity to choose silence and solitude,” explains @RichardRohrOFM.

Challenging times such as these remind us why compassion matters. Compassion reasserts something we all have in common - our humanity. We stand firm in our mission to help anyone, anywhere who needs our support. Always neutral, always impartial, always compassionate.

If you suspect someone has meningitis, call 999 immediately. Do not wait for all the signs as some may not appear, it can develop quickly and they may become seriously ill. Taking fast action is the best way to get the treatment needed.
