This is going to be difficult to understand, but nanites, which manifest as parasites and many other things, as they are a single molecule in size, do not actually 'exist'. As in they are not authorized to be here in this world. Which means they do manifest in your DNA only if humans cast them into that reality. But a nanite alone just standing there, does not have a reflection in a mirror because the spacetime fabric (the aether) does not recognize them as something that is real. And the keeper does say that nanites do not exist in higher dimensions where everyone simply denies their existence and they don't exist. So when you shift to the next level of awareness, they won't be coming along unless you drag them there. The mirror below doesn't reflect 'you' in the room, it knows everything in that room whether you cover yourself up or not and reproduces you as a 'reflection'. It doesn't not reflect the Budhara Borja Retrovirus, where the legend of Vampires not having a reflection comes from. And even that answer alone isn't the whole story, because mirrors are also gateways to the real world you were taken out of when you were placed 'Beyond the Looking Glass' as the keeper refers to this overlay simulation.
