If I could choose anyone to become the future coach of the Blazers, the hat I would throw in the ring would be Rajon Rondo.
Being a former All-Star and All-Defensive guard, some regard Rondo as one of the wisest minds the sport has ever seen. He would have a complete understanding of both sides of the ball and how to take this team to the next level of competing.
Being on Milwaukee’s coaching staff since 2022, Rondo has gotten to learn the inner workings of coaching and probably picked up a couple lessons of “what not to do” from their recent coaching situation.
Rondo would also be a first time head coach, which could play into Tom Dundon's favor in contract negotiations all the while allowing a young coach who played in this generation to demonstrate his expertise to a young roster.
It is not a complete rarity for a coach to find success in their first head coaching job, so with that in mind, would you take a chance on Rajon Rondo?
