@23_rahulr One of the worst films I watched this year. The director took the viewers in so many directions we lost interest and felt emotionally nothing for a subject so sensitive. The only person to blame is the director. Screenplay is beyond horrible. This is just my opinion.

It’s a film still in theatres. In many theatres. PLEASE GO WATCH #Assi IN THEATRES WITHOUT DELAY. One of the best Indian films I’ve seen in decades. Please take as many people as you can. And no… it’s not just about the ‘message.’ That is powerful, of course, but it’s also an incredibly well written and made film! Men at war, terrorists etc don’t operate at softly and their characters shouldn’t be written for your comfort. This genre demands blood, sweat and unapologetic machismo. I hope you enjoy cinema for what it is and not how you’d like it.

And finally, a word to Anupama Chopra: criticism is welcome, but bias disguised as insight harms the very cinema you claim to serve. Dismissing the film’s intensity as “too much testosterone” reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of the genre and its characters.

Dhurandar surely is the Film of the Year, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Negative Role, Best Screenplay, Best Music, Best Casting and the list goes on. It is that rare film that delivers on every front.

It felt like a tribute to Baba and Vaastav. Thank you, Aditya, for that cinematic moment. I had goosebumps. Arjun Rampal and R. Madhavan, as always, are impeccable, understated, and utterly convincing.

My only regret is not watching it in a packed single screen theatre. In a refined multiplex crowd, I was the lone voice whistling and cheering during Sanjay Dutts entry. That entry was pure fire. It was clearly crafted by someone who reveres Vaastav as much as we do.

For an entire generation that grew up watching him, watching him shine on the screen like this brought genuine tears of nostalgia and joy.

Akshay Khanna deserves every accolade coming his way. He commands and eclipses every scene he’s in with an effortless, almost terrifying authority. Every glance, every silence is devastating.

Ranveer Singh has just given the finest performance of his career. Love him or hate him, the man has poured everything into this role and silenced his doubters. His Dhurandar breathes and bleeds authenticity.

Mukesh Chhabra has delivered a casting masterclass. Every actor fits their role as perfectly as Cinderella into her heel, there isn’t a single false note.

When that haunting vision of Dhurandar’s blood drenched hand flashed on screen with regret on his face, I knew Aditya isn’t your regular director. Aditya Dhar, I may not have been aware of your game but you have cooked and how.
