We are gathering feedback from the Ancient History community on the current GCSE and A Level specifications, and would love to hear from as many practitioners as possible. Have your say here: forms.gle/SkmBzztzSdjghf…

@ARLTClassics is such enjoyable CPD it doesn’t feel like work! It’s always lovely to catch up with friends and meet new people. And we were treated to a rain free day trip to Vindolanda.

Sad to leave the @ARLTClassics Summer School early. It was packed with excellent lectures & option groups on a range of topics including Sappho, Ovid, history pedagogy, Eduqas Love & Marriage, spoken Latin... Plus I led a group on teaching and learning in the classics classroom.

Such joy to be back in Manchester singing Elgar’s Apostles at the Bridgewater Hall with both my current choir @LPChoir and my old choir @hallechoir ❤️

I took 80 Year 7 to Fishbourne @romanpalace today and loved it! Such a good trip and the girls were very excited to “touch things a real life Roman has touched”. Just a shame we couldn’t spend any longer there. Thank you to all who recommended it.

What a treat to have the @Classical_Assoc’s 120th anniversary celebration in the beautiful Fitzwilliam Museum. Thank you @officialnhaynes for a rousing speech on the joys of Classics. Now to sleep before tomorrow’s mammoth conference schedule. #CA2023

This promises to be a very interesting project on ancient & modern refugee stories, particularly in light of current debates. Looking forward to going tomorrow with @sheonadavies to support @jcorkewebster. Anyone else in London with a free Monday evening should have a look.

Would appreciate help circulating this as widely as possible - in the current furore over the new immigration bill, the voices of the displaced and persecuted it will impact are conspicuously absent. This exhibition, Letters of Refuge, puts them front and centre. #LettersOfRefuge

Key points: it’s hard to observe learning, concepts need to be met at least three times, link to big picture, build on prior learning, check for understanding and encourage students to manage their own learning. Thank you @iknowkellaway and @ajpross for your great contributions.

Today the @WoldinghamSch EdResearch team discussed Graham Nuthall’s Hidden Lives of Learners. It’s clear to see why it is such a seminal text as it reinforces so much of the other pedagogical research we have looked at this year.
