Exactly 10 years ago I was a Department of Defense civilian employee doing my job in my high school untucked 80’s polo on a base in Afghanistan. The day this picture was taken me and the bros rode over to eat at one of the better DFAC then hit the local national’s bizarre bazaar.

@AppyOrtho My wife and I stayed at a bed and breakfast that was built by one of the 600 after the war. We didn’t know the place was supposedly haunted until after we arrived then I learned of the original owner’s history. Later we visited this fort as part of my research.

@DrTraceyK @wusa9 @WTOP Thank you! Great news on the roads! They actually stayed home with us for an extra week because of that front that went through up there last week. They put a great deal of thought and prayer into the housing situation and at least for now that seems to be their best option. 🙏

@jesseabn @wusa9 They will be fine. The roads were clear and warm prior to the snow. @WTOP says that traffic is fine. Safe travels & best wishes for a good Ft Belvoir visit today (I hope they get a fabulous house!) although it would be a long commute to WRNMMC.
