I have been following your story, Jesse. I relate so much to Bethany – the weight of grief, the groans of a grieving mother. I lost my first daughter, Ellinor, 12 years ago. It was so devastating, and I was so new in my faith, that I pushed a lot of the grief down. I couldn't even bear to have a funeral for her. I couldn't share that pain with the world. I simply put her ashes on my dresser, where I see them every day. When I saw those dreaded words yesterday, that your sweet Lucy had passed, the floodgates finally opened. I cried in a way I haven't cried in all these years. My heart absolutely broke for you all. When I saw the photo of Bethany in the bed next to Lucy, her little angelic face so peaceful, I could feel every inch of Bethany's grief. And it unlocked the grief I had kept hidden away for so long. I slept all of 3 hours last night, but I count it a blessing. I am so unutterably sorry for your loss. It is the most unbearable thing any person can endure. But I think you will not make the same mistake I did in trying to push past the pain too quickly. It is good you are having a service for Lucy. It is good you are able to share this with others. I pray so earnestly for you and your family to experience the fullness of God's love during this time, so that you will stand in amazement of it in the years to come. He is with you, and He will never let you go. All my love, and God bless.

No blog post today. Lucy Lynn Morgan passed away this morning around 4am. She now sees Jesus face to face. Thank you for all your love poured out to us. Here’s a picture from our goodbyes earlier yesterday on June 4.

Major prayer request! A pastor friend’s 6yr old daughter had a serious head injury today and just had emergency brain surgery! She is still in very critical condition. Please pray for Lucy!🙏🏻

@BobKellemen Bob, in your engagement with Heath please note we’d all be more prone to take him more seriously if he provided the potential pitfalls that he is more likely to fall into. If his analogy provided that, I think it would’ve been much more palatable and more intellectually honest.

@KevinCarson @jdahlxn @TDaleJohnson Shepherding is an exercise of power that’s supposed to be faithful. His desire to “shepherd” people to be conformed to his image in this harsh way with his influence is unfaithful exercise of power. There’s also no way this will bring about his desired response of “repentance”.

@jdahlxn So Crabb says Lambert's motive is power, yet HL has none. He is not anything in ACBC. He would say (and I asked) his motive is shepherding his people. @TDaleJohnson would also say his motive is shepherding certified counselors. What makes Crabb understand them better?

The "ones whom the world is not worthy" (Hebrews 11) were explicitly those in the wilderness—not immaculate priests in a walled garden. This subtle misreading perhaps says something deeper about Lambert's broader error: There is no walled garden to flee to.🧵

@BobKellemen @PstrCHAMP There’s counter-analogy there somewhere and another side…like inside the garden walling yourself in with literalistic fundamentalism, drinking from the well of your own pride turns you into a disembodied ghost that’s suspicious of more embodied priests. I’ll work on it!

Sheesh. I have many words regarding this video. I don’t really have the time this week to articulate them all but in short: This video is loaded with undefined terms that carry a LOT of weight and a whole host of unsubstantiated claims that poison the well of this discussion.
