It's our second-ever @browsercompany Board Meeting next week. Trying an experiment to push the boundaries of building in public: Arc Members: is there anything you're curious about surrounding our Board Meeting? What can we demystify?

The performative aspect is one of the main interesting features of #livecoding. While projecting code makes it easy to follow the improvisation on a semantic level, other aspects concerning soun cannot be represented in code, in the same way a score cannot wholly represent music.

Playful listening (not just w/👂): 🏹Spontaneity: Openness to the sensory qualities of the moment. ✨Curiosity: Every sound has a story. Follow it. 🙏Grateful appreciation: Accepting the wondrous and bittersweet bequest of sensory consciousness, in all its beauty and brokenness.
Emergence Magazine@emergence_zine

When we listen playfully, we can encounter sonic vibrations older than terrestrial life. This new practice by @DGHaskell invites you to immerse yourself in the web of connections created by sound. Explore "Playful Listening." emergencemagazine.org/practice/playf… Illustration by Daniel Liévano

@katecrawford Ah hmm, well 🤷‍♂️ the creator failed to assert they were the author, obviously they were? Machines don’t yet actually do this stuff autonomously under their own will. Seems sort of silly for now? Until some AGI declares it’s sentient this seems like a non issue

Wow - the human/AI interface is about to get weirder. US Copyright Office just ruled that works "autonomously created" by algorithms cannot be copyrighted. This is the work they rejected:

Anyone read anything good about NFTs and the Climate Crisis? Most of what I hear at the moment is so uncritical of the amount of resources they use.
