After nearly 9 years at VICE News, I've just been notified that I'm getting laid off. I’m gutted by the decision to close down the website that I’ve called home for so long, since I started as an intern in 2015. 🧵

Maxwell was one of my first editors at HuffPost. He was such an intimidatingly good writer, and did his best to disabuse me of some of the worst business newswriting cliches I'd picked up at my last job. Funny, too. I can't say enough good things about why you should hire him.

I may be biased but Maxwell is one of the best journalists out there. He's done incredible work at Motherboard/ Vice and I can't wait to see what he'll do next.
