All 7 women in this survey said "no" to "Is an AGI likely to cause civilizational disaster if we do nothing?". 6/7 warned of that narrative distracting from corporate power grabbing and other immediate risks. Only 5/15 men said "no" to this question. (p-value for χ² = 0.014)

Also the fact is that the beneficiaries of the security feature were partially the verified individuals but more so the audience who would understand whether a tweet they saw was authentic. Verification/security should have been something Twitter invested in not tried to monetize

Verification wasn’t about denoting who was popular— it was a security feature that happened to often be more necessary for popular accounts. Removing the security aspect of it means that the core value prop was erased. That’s why no one wants it anymore.

I sent out my goodbye email at work yesterday (today is my last day) and amusingly enough, I have gotten far more Instagram requests for my dog’s account than LinkedIn requests for me. (Admittedly I was already connected to many on LI but I still enjoy it)

Remembering when my old building manager ripped up my rent check that I put in the box over the weekend instead of on Friday so that he could also give me a “failure to pay” fee in addition to a late fee. Cost me $150. Cap the fees to disincentivize weaponizing them.
