@TheKingsFund Really great read but had a question about your bowel cancer stat. Is this age standardised? NDRS have age standardised cancer stats from 2019 and bowel cancer incidence is slightly higher in more deprived areas.

Monique Botha is actually they/them 🤷🏻‍♀️
We need to talk about the social exclusion & social punishment that disabled people face for asking for access. I can't be the only one who is constantly weighing up whether to push, or let it go because pushing comes with intense alienation no matter how polite I am.

NEW: I’m not sure people fully appreciate how dire the US life expectancy / mortality situation has got. My column: enterprise-sharing.ft.com/redeem/75e5e3d… And some utterly damning charts. 1) at *every* point on the income distribution, Americans live shorter lives than the English.

Looks like the EHRC really is proposing that trans people should be able to marry as our authentic selves, yet be barred from the spaces and services that allow us to live our daily lives. Utter, utter madness that will be looked back on with shame.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Nadhim Zahawi, has been sending threatening letters to people investigating his tax affairs. The letters are designed to intimidate & say they're confidential and can't be published. One was sent to me. I am publishing it. taxpolicy.org.uk/2022/07/22/let…
