@jesslyness @ElegantLeopard I wish there was a "do this and it'll work" formula, but my best tip is always to pitch section editors -- they hand out assignments AND are usually salaried. So they can sift through pitches in a way we cant! :)

Reminder to journalists to be kind to PR folks. I know they flood our inboxes but they're just people trying to do their job. I've had so many lovely convos with PR folks lately and it's making my job easier, too, because they can better target their pitches to me.
