Just been lying next to my son who couldn't sleep. Was thinking about how the NHS has been there for him & his twin brother all through their lives. Their first 2 weeks in NICU, in the hospital I work in. The NHS & stories of vulnerability & care are woven through all our lives.

PRIVATE MEDICINE IS NOT THE SOLUTION! It is extravagant,inequitable and easily leads to over treatment. Socialised healthcare systems like the NHS work fine in Scandinavia. The problem with the NHS is the Tory Party, not the principle of tax-funded equal medical treatment for all

@KateBurkeNHS Weirdly bananas sometimes help me - something to do with potassium though there is probably zero science to this. And tracking triggers as mine totally changed and can no longer eat things I’ve eaten my whole life.

The feeling of doing what we can, while being exhausted, on edge, no end in sight, knowing we're unable to give the care we want. It hurts, silently & deeply. Important we keep talking about moral distress when we can, supporting each other to make sense of how hard it all feels.
