He’s still been awful every time he’s played in the NHL. He can’t carry a puck and every time he plays he looks like he has no hockey IQ. Not trying to compare a dude that’s 36 to a 22 year old😭 nyquist has done his job in the NHL for many years and has several 45Pts+ seasons he’s just collecting extra pay checks at this point.

@pat_fenis_96 @NikLynam I just think he hasn’t really been given a fair opportunity at centre. I thought he looked faster in pre season (before high ankle sprain) I think he’s done good on the wing when given right linemates (ehlers and for his first year Connor) I think he’s being written off to soon

@jetshky @NikLynam I love perfetti too. His under the hood numbers are great and looked like he belonged in the playoffs. But he was drafted as a center, and is quite slow, not doing the best on wing. For Shane Wright? You'd be crazy not to at least entertain those conversations if available.

The Jets signalling Kyrou and Wright interest is cute, and funny from the org that lectured about “playing fantasy hockey” Based on same reporting, Seattle’s looking at packaging Wright with additional assets for a long term, scoring stud in their top 6. Winnipeg has 3 players that match the description Winnipeg’s signalling they are looking to add him to their top 6 mix to solidify it, or via a change of scenery type deal. Good luck with that

@pat_fenis_96 @NikLynam I get perfetti isn’t having a good year but you have to remember he wasn’t gonna be a guy to put up 80+ points but he’d be a good 60+ point guy on a normal bases (not having a injury or having horrible linemates)

@JFreshHockey @VinceGabriele I have to disagree with your description there. He’s a great passer but he’s proven when healthy with the jets what type of player he is.

Gabriel Vilardi, signed 6x$7.5M by WPG, is a scorer who despite being very slow, not physical, not a good passer, not active with the puck, and frequently injured, puts the puck in the net extremely efficiently, forechecks well, and draws way more penalties than he takes.

@PuckBunkerBoyce @AdamFly96727825 I agree Bedard was definitely more dominant just think the defensive game just wasn’t good enough nor was his effort defensively which when the draft was going on I thought WOULD be (I’ll probably get flamed for this) the only way he doesn’t go 1st overall which he did obviously

@jetshky @AdamFly96727825 I'd say its similar, but I thought Bedard was a more dominant offensive player than him in junior and dominated his age group (+2 years) on an international level that McKenna did not. However, yes there's similarities, including my questions on Bedard truly ever being a C.

@PuckBunkerBoyce @AdamFly96727825 In my opinion Bedard had the same flaws you just mentioned during his draft year, id say he has more leadership ability but everything else you mentioned there is the same

Defensive iq is poor, his effort 200 ft isnt great and he isnt a physical threat nor does he want to engage in battles....not to mention he will never be a C...probably wont matter due to how much better his offensive IQ and skill level is than everyone, but I'd argue both Celebrini and Bedard were better prospects than him.
