The paradox is that what is resisted is rarely resolved..

In 2019, sitting in Maui on a babymoon with Mrs. Bags, I remember thinking the market probably had another 9–11 years of a bull ahead. A year earlier I’d made a decision — I was going to retire before 55. So I got serious. On that trip it clicked: if I was going to hit that goal, I had to ride the bull — even with limited experience. I NEEDED TO LEARN AS MUCH AS QUICKLY AS I COULD, AND I NEEDED TO GET AS MUCH HELP AS I COULD POSSIBLY GATHER. Fast forward… in 2023 at the age of 45 I retired from regular work. And we’re probably 3/4 of the way through that bull cycle,  This isn’t a doomer post. THIS IS A REMINDER. Make hay while the sun is shining. But don’t do it alone. There’s no chance I get here without the people I met on @Stocktwits. So many great teachers starting with TKPTrader, some tough love from shortseller, Maxwellhouse72 BigGreenie and stinkroach — three of the best — and of course Cookie. But my knowledge base really took off with the friendship and weekly education from @JFDI and @gpaisa7 In one day I’ll be at the NYSE with Nick and GP celebrating their nominations as community members of the year. Without all these people giving their time and sharing what they know, I don’t get here. What a ride. Short story, long, believe in yourself. And find your people. Don’t think you have to do everything alone. You may go faster alone, but you’ll go farther together. Grateful. 🫶🏼

Most people move through life protecting comfort, image, status, and survival; but the rare few move from principle. And principle has a gravity selfishness can never replicate. The market works the same way. The masses chase immediate gratification, emotional relief, and the illusion of certainty. But the great operators sacrifice comfort for positioning. They think in probabilities, timing, and long term leverage. Self interest reacts; conviction waits. And in the end, the patient individual with a clear mind usually takes everything from the emotional crowd.
