@JoeBiden Biden is lying — everyone will have to pay higher taxes because he refuses to stop his reckless spending. Notice how Democrat politicians always want more money. They never want to be more efficient with your tax dollars. They’re like schoolchildren when it comes to finances.

@SpeakerMcCarthy So where is the good Ole bipartisanship from the old days of politics? Why is compromise a bad thing? The independent swing voters are tired of both sides pandering to their extreme bases with this my way or the high way atritude.

Just got off the phone with the president while he’s out of the country. My position has not changed. Washington cannot continue to spend money we do not have at the expense of children and grandchildren. Tomorrow, he and I will meet in person to continue negotiations.

Greatest quote of our first ftc competition. Mr. G I have never been to a competition because I am not a sports guy, but this is fun. This is why I do what I do.

Best way to have impact on grad rates? Rigorous 8th and 7th grade career exploration programs. Can we say more CTE classes in middle schools?

A common theme at our #wa_acte summer con is that we teach kids not subjects. A truer statement could not be said. As a CTE teacher I may have subjects that I teach but I mostly figure out what kids need and give them that.

In CTE we need to help our colleagues see that CTE is not all the cool toys/tools we also have rigorous curriculum/standards that we have to teach/teach too. #WA_ACTE

Workbased learning programs that lead to industry credentials give students a leg up on getting into colleges and programs more than volunteer and GPA.

What if we recorded our classes like they are doing at #WA-ACTE sessions? Then post those classes online for students to access when they need/are ready?

We need to start encoiraging, no requiring core subject aeea teachers to attended CTE courses to learn how we teach/support their curriculum. How cool would that be? #WA-ACTE

When it comes to cte advisory members do you have pigs or chickens? Chickens just contribute to the process (show up 2 times, make a donation here & there, etc) where pigs are committed (moc-interviews, co-teach lessons, provide internships, etc).

Problem many careers have is that they ask for experience orba degree that many qualified candidates lackm Simple solution is work based learning.

Skills count when it comes to being in the workforce. CTE classws count and should be treated as a core subject area or at very least be heald to level as the core subjects. #wa_acte

Education counts but you need to make sure you find the right Education for you and where you are at in your career journey. That may be a degree in an ology or a trade/industry credentialm

Language is powerful. I think as educators we need to become comfortable with the language students bring. Yes we need to give them access to academic lang. but that should not be the only language we accept in our classroom. #AVID4Possibility
