On this day, August 16, 1927, we celebrate the heavenly birthday of Mrs. Alzina Toups, who sadly passed on May 2, 2022. I was lucky enough to share numerous meals with her, surrounded by friends and loved ones, creating cherished memories that I will never forget. The experience was truly one-of-a-kind and can only be fully appreciated by those who experienced it firsthand. People always ask, what's your favorite seafood? My answer, whatever local that's in season. Blue Crab season is here and yes, during this season the Blue Crab is my favorite. Our local crab shacks are keeping some of the Extra Large crabs previously shipped to the East Coast. They have to pay a premium to keep these crabs for us to enjoy. Go out and enjoy them because if we don't buy them our friends in Baltimore are always excited to get them. A dozen of these will feed a whole family.

One of my all time favorite Stand Up Oyster Bars, Pascal’s Manale, and shuckers, Thomas (Uptown-T) Stewart is a must when visiting New Orleans. It’s always on my list of stops in the City.
