I also saw Heretic in smell-o-vision and agree with @jgrebes that the blueberry pie smell was effective, albeit briefly deployed, and that they should not have given us pie afterward even though it was a nice gesture.

I thought Venom: The Last Dance was pretty awful and on the whole, I don't think the Venom movies are good BUT I completely understand why they "work" while Morbius and Madame Web fail time.com/7098770/venom-…

@AllMattNYC @emilyctamkin I would say it has been made very clear what WaPo's owner thinks in this circumstance

@jgrebes @emilyctamkin LOL! Look here now man, editorials are the one thing in a newspaper that owners traditionally do get to dictate!
It's a better world when journalists can stick to uncovering stories and newspapers skip letting us know what their owners think.

Do we know The Washington Post isn't making an endorsement out of "fear?"
The Post reports aggressively on Trump every single day. Strange for a paper that fears him, no?

It isn’t that editorial endorsements matter so much, but that we all know what’s happening here - a paper isn’t putting out an endorsement for the first time in years because of fear - matters quite a bit.

@AllMattNYC @emilyctamkin Just say you think it's good when billionaires mandate coverage

@emilyctamkin I just don't think anything is lost here. If anything, not endorsing a candidate is a net gain for journalism. Readers want to be informed of things they don't know about, not told what to think or what the paper thinks.
The motives here matter far less to than the result
