Hi! Sorry this is getting taken way too far. Of course people have survived. But it’s much safer underground or in a shelter. If possible. I realize it’s not possible for everyone so having your helmet, lowest level and interior is critical. I had a very short time to get this out so apologies all the context did not come through. Everyone over here doing our best… and a shelter is obviously the best bet.

This is incorrect. Even in zones of violent tornado damage, above ground sheltering is remarkably effective. More than 99% of people in the Joplin and Moore tornadoes survived the EF4 and EF5 damage sheltered in their homes, the vast majority had no underground shelter. #okwx
