The shortlist will attend an exclusive comprehensive workshop at Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles, culminating in the Awards ceremony on May 30th. Of note: NON-FICTION - Olawunmi Hassan (Nigeria), ÌRÚN DÍDÌ – From traditional Yoruba techniques to modern interpretations, the film traces the evolution of the timeless art of hair plaiting, as it becomes a sacred ritual of self-care and empowerment. ENVIRONMENT - Curtis Essel (Ghana), THE PERMACULTURIST – Vegan chef, permaculture enthusiast, and content creator Gaz Oakley meets permaculture expert Bemeriki Dusabe, a Congolese refugee who has been living in a settlement in Uganda for the last 16 years. STUDENT - Raheem Razak (AFDA, South Africa), ANGUISH – In what seems to be a zombie-infested world, devoted son Sam must tend to his zombie mother while surviving the apocalypse himself. FUTURE FORMAT - Rana Ramy (Egypt), ABOVE/ZERO – A journey through the relationship between light, space, and subject, in an attempt to configure one's existence within the light. The category winners will be chosen by expert judges and awarded for creative excellence and original approaches to narrative. Trailers for each film in the QTS.

@ChiPubSchools This doesn't help. My kids were home for 14 months in a row. A day off work would help, not a day without school. Vaccine clinics at schools would help. At best this was poorly thought through

Let's say you had to create a computer system that had to last a while (5-20+ years) with as little human or mechanical intervention as possible, due to scarcity of both people, resources, hardware, and/or know-how. Obviously this is pretty abstract, but where would you begin?

Had my first "things are opening up and getting incredibly stupid" experience last night at the park. Softball game thought they were entitled to the entire park, volleyball game that was there first took issue. Softball *called the cops* on the volleyball game.

Super excited to see which of my friends can be trusted and which of them thinks some cop murders are good and necessary, like when the murdereree is a vet who believes silly things and still follows orders from their commander in chief. I think I’m batting 1000 now but we’ll see

We’re finding out the mayor has contracted for five hundred private security officers this weekend. A company called Monterrey Security. No names or badge numbers on their uniforms so accountability will be very difficult.
