Dear Jae, @eaJPark It’s been 4 years. Back then, no one really knew how far this would go. Not you. Not us. And reading your words lately reminded us that this journey was never easy for you, even when it sometimes looked that way from the outside. You said your voice feels strange now, that writing hasn’t been coming the same, that relying on others feels unfamiliar, that something about how it used to be is missing. It makes sense that things feel different. You’ve been through a lot, and you’ve kept moving even when it wasn’t easy. Anyone in your place would feel that shift. But Jae, different doesn’t mean something is gone. What feels unfamiliar to you doesn’t sound lost to us. It sounds like someone who’s growing past a version of himself he once knew by heart. And growth rarely feels comfortable while it’s happening. You said that maybe knowing a younger version of you would be proud could be enough. But we think he would be more than proud. He would be surprised that you kept going this far, even when things felt heavy, even when you doubted yourself this much. Jae, while you were questioning yourself, your music was reaching hearts. There are people who ‘stayed’ longer than they thought they could. People who finally found words for things they couldn’t explain. People who felt understood, even without being seen. People who found courage they didn’t know they had. And somehow, a community grew out of that. A place where people found each other and felt less alone. That comes from you. And that didn’t happen by accident. Your existence, your voice, your words, your presence, have weight in people’s lives in ways you might not always get to see. So we sincerely hope you get to feel something back too. A kind of comfort that doesn’t ask you to prove anything. A moment where you can just breathe and not feel behind. We hope you keep trying to be on your own side. To take care of yourself the way you’ve always taken care of others. Not later, after everything works out. But now, even in the middle of not having answers. You don’t have to chase a version of yourself that existed before all of this. You’re allowed to become someone new, even if it feels unfamiliar at first. You’re allowed to pause, to breathe, to take your time and figure out what feels right to you. Because we’re not here for your perfection. We’re here because your sincerity has always been real. That’s enough for us to stay. And we always will be, just the same.
