People act like the Minnesota chaos is just about generic enforcement of immigration law, when it's actually about a specific (and specifically aggressive) ICE operation that was only launched in December 2025 -- pompously called "Operation Metro Surge" -- following a series of unrelated political controversies involving Minnesota. Namely the issue of Somali public services fraud, which has nothing in particular to do with "illegal immigration," as in the type of thing that ICE agents are typically charged with investigating, because whatever you may think of the Somalis, nothing about their apparent fraud is rectified by the ongoing ICE street "surge" -- the Somalis, by and large, have proper legal status, whether you like it or not. So the operation, and its seemingly arbitrary focus on Minnesota, appears openly punitive in nature, rather than rationally targeted against an area with an especially outsized prevalence of "illegal immigrants," of the kind that ICE has a mandate to investigate. By all available evidence, it's principally motivated by Trump not liking Tim Walz and Ilhan Omar, et al. DHS openly brags it's the "largest DHS operation ever." Why else would this be taking place in Minnesota, which has a relatively low population of illegal immigrants, and relatively low violent crime, compared to other states?

Some of y’all are more afraid of seed oils, non-organic food, and carbs than you are of the actual shit happening in the U.S. right now. If your biggest fear is a bagel instead of injustice, cruelty, and systems failing real humans, your priorities are wildly off.

If you can get beaten over your 1st amendment right, and murdered over your 2nd amendment right, you have no rights.

A statement from the family of Alex Pretti, obtained by CNN: "We are heartbroken but also very angry. Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately he will not be with us to see his impact. I do not throw around the hero term lightly. However his last thought and act was to protect a woman. The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He has his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down all while being pepper sprayed. Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you."

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but… If agents can pull a legal firearm from your holster, then open fire on you because you had a firearm… Then no one actually has the right to conceal carry.

Remember, the dehumanization started the day he came down the escalator. Dehumanization is an essential tool for fascism: scapegoating the target group serves to normalize cruelty, justify state violence, control through fear, and ultimately erode civil rights.

AOC: "An ICE officer had violently pushed a woman to the ground and he had come over to help get her up and that is what precipitated this incident that very quickly led to an execution in the streets. What we are seeing here is a momentous pivotal moment for the United States."

To be clear about what this depicts: An immigration officer threw a woman onto the ground. Alex Pretti, a registered nurse on scene as a legal observer, is filming and goes to help the woman up. He is then pepper sprayed and thrown to the ground for no discernible reason. Many officer surround and assault him; one removes his firearm, which police say appears to have been legally registered. They then execute him with a hail of bullets. They are, objectively speaking, both cowards and criminals, while Pretti is what we teach people an American ought to be.
