@LudvigTracker Karen can coach and she developed a team. She didn't import 95% of her starters in one swoop to steal a championship. It doesn't amaze me how corrupt TTU is, it amazes me how NONE of their fans have any morals, or sense of decency.

@AllKindsWeather The obvious reason is the transfer and comments from mom about the coach. Don’t think it was intentional, but a case of “let’s throw inside and if we hit her, that’s ok”. 5 times in 3 days, for a pitcher that averages less than 1 per game?

Texas Tech fans have yet to provide a logical explanation for why Florida would hit Mia Williams on purpose. If the intention was to cause her pain, you really think that clipping her on the knee or arm satisfies that goal? You have any idea what an intentional HBP looks like? It’s hard heat in the ribs. In the helmet. In the middle of the back. It’s not on the edge of the batter’s box. A glancing pitch off the leg or arm doesn’t meet that criteria of “screw her, let’s cause her as much pain as possible.” Not to mention how fired up it clearly got Williams, and the entire TTU dugout. If Keagan Rothrock did do it on purpose the first time, and then she saw how much juice it gave the Red Raiders, do you really think she’d inject them with another four doses of that juice on purpose? And on top of all that… if the game was out of hand, MAYBE you’d still have an argument. To start the biggest game of the year by giving TTU a free baserunner just to make someone feel pain for a few seconds? Sorry, no. That’s irrational even if she DIDN’T stick her arm/leg into most of the pitches that hit her. Congrats on the series win. You won. Move on with your lives.

A study comparing grain-fed beef to grass-fed beef, found that the former had 0.32 grams of Omega 6 per 100g serving, while the latter had, on average, 0.067 grams. The same amount of pork belly would get 5 grams of Omega 6. The same amount of walnuts puts you at 38 grams. Worrying about the significance of Omega 6 in grain-fed beef is the epitome of majoring in the minors.

California's Central Valley produces 80% of the world's almonds. Each almond requires 3.2 gallons of actual irrigation water to grow. Not rainfall. Actual tap water pumped from aquifers. One gallon of almond milk requires 162 gallons of irrigation water. Compare that to dairy milk at 8 gallons of tap water per gallon, with the rest being rainfall that falls on pasture anyway. But here's where it gets properly grim. Almonds bloom for exactly three weeks in February. During those three weeks, California needs every pollinating bee in North America transported to the Central Valley or the crop fails entirely. Commercial beekeepers truck in 31 billion honeybees. That's two-thirds of America's entire managed bee population, all concentrated in one valley for three weeks. The bees are packed into trucks, driven across the country, dumped into almond groves drenched in pesticides, worked to exhaustion, then packed up and shipped to the next crop. The mortality rate is catastrophic. Beekeepers report losing 30 to 50% of their hives annually. That's billions of bees dead. Not from natural causes. From being used as disposable pollination machines for your almond milk. The pesticides don't help. Almond groves are sprayed with neonicotinoids which scramble bee navigation systems, fungicides which weaken their immune systems, and herbicides which eliminate the wildflowers they'd normally forage on between almond blooms. Meanwhile the aquifer depletion is permanent. The Central Valley has sunk 28 feet in some areas from groundwater extraction. That water took 10,000 years to accumulate. It's being drained in decades for almond milk. Your vegan latte killed more bees and used more water than a year's worth of dairy milk. But it's got "plant-based" on the label so you're definitely saving the planet.
