I have to give credit where it’s due. Nate Oats and Preston Murphy found a hidden gem on the recruiting trail with freshman forward Amari Allen. The Wisconsin native has generated a lot of buzz surrounding his draft stock in the upcoming NBA Draft. Allen has been solid on both ends of the floor this season for the Crimson Tide. He is a three-level scorer that can generate offense off the bounce using his ability to dribble and penetrate, often creating traffic to open up teammates. Allen is as effective on the boards as anyone on the roster, averaging a team-high 7.4 rebounds per game. NBA scouts have begun to take notice and rightfully so. Allen has been one of the more consistent players in CBB this season. His game will certainly translate to the next level. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season pans out for the freshman phenom. It could play a factor in whether he decides to turn pro or return to school.
