While camping in New Mexico I cracked my carbon bike. I bought a kit to fix it & it turns out it's a pretty easy repair. I made a video about it in case you ever need to fix a crack in a carbon bike. Let me know what you think: youtu.be/MfIIVMNxocw

@ReflectShade That's a lovely Raleigh Twenty, Ron - great riding folders. I had one for some time. My Brompton is quite the upgrade ;-)

@ReflectShade Yes that could work. I forgot that Park Tool made a similar tool to the BikeSmith but doesn't appear to any longer. The VAR press fetches a pretty penny from collectors.

@ReflectShade Hi Ron, I mostly use a hammer. The key thing is to support the crankarm. I have a helper hold the bike so that the crankarm rests on a vise. Then I loosen the nut a turn or two and tap on the cotter to break it free loosening the nut more as the cotter comes out.

Someone might tell you it's not - but the truth is that it's safe to put carbon bikes in clamp-style bicycle repair stands. This week in my column I have tips on what clamps to get and how to use them. #comment-136189" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">roadbikerider.com/clamping-carbo…

@bici @TheCampagKid Silca's bar tape has lasted a couple of years for me. I don't ride in the rain much at all. It does get dirty (I have white) but it doesn't fray or lose its grip.

Wrapping the bars on the Bianchi again - lizardskins make great tape but it only lasts a few months 🤷🏻‍♂️

@jimlangley I experienced speed wobble on a road bike while descending Bonny Doon Rd once a few years back. I unclipped, threw my feet down and gracelessly dragged to a stop. I thought it was bad brakes. Might've been bad tire seating or wheel out of true. Replacing the brakes "fixed" it.
