After @adrian_wilson24's 3 INT game vs DAL in 2002, I thought, "this guy is going to be a stud." He was. His NFC Championship performance vs PHI stands out. 7 tackles, 2 sacks, a forced fumble and the Jack in the Box celebration with @Karlosdansby56. I also remember A-Dub wearing No. 22 during his rookie season of 2001.

One of the best dudes I’ve met in 30+ yrs of #AZCardinals football. After playing, AE wore many hats for the Cardinals, including team travel. I’m a St. Louis native and AE always got me a room with an Arch view when we played the Rams. He always nailed the details. Congrats, AE!

@LeeShappell Lee! I thought of you last night while putting this together. I still use "Smart Flakes" in my lexicon these days. I believe Mac was addressing you when he said it. Funny how someone's sayings can rub off on another. Glad it was from Mac. 😃

@jimohms Thanks for this post, Jim. It brought back a lot of memories of how much fun it was to come to work during those years when I covered the team for the paper. I had forgotten how quick and how funny Dave could be.

My archive is full of great moments from #AZCardinals history, and Coach Mac earned a BIG folder of his own. Here are 6:35 of my favorite “Mac-isms” from his time as head coach in AZ. Thanks for the memories, Coach Mac! RIP. 🕊️

Coach McGinnis believed in me when nobody else did. He stood on the table on draft day and brought me to Arizona. When my career was at a dead end after tearing both of my ACLs, he advocated for the Titans to pick me up. Every athlete needs a Coach Mac in their corner...somebody that has their back regardless of the situation they are in. I hope to be someone else's Coach Mac. But, there was only one Coach Mac - he loved his players like family and treated everyone with respect. Rest in peace.

@Cardschatter @CraigSMorgan @JPearlAZ @bmaz @sbordow There’s also that time at Qualcomm when you left your backpack in a cab before AZ @ SD. After a few bad words that began with F, you regained composure and tracked down the cab company. There were challenges pre Uber/Lyft and you were clearly the GOAT of figuring things out. 😂

@CraigSMorgan @JPearlAZ @bmaz @sbordow There was an even happier ending: I managed to figure out who the taxi company was from the hotel, called them when I landed in Phoenix and three days later my wallet arrived in the mail completely intact.

In 1999, in my previous life as a one-season hockey reporter, we were headed to the airport after a road game and my wallet fell out of my pocket in the taxi. I had literally no ID. @sbordow vouched for me at the airline desk and I flew home, easy peazy. Truly a different time.

A PSA: Arizona is always on Mountain Standard Time. MST just happens to be the same as PT from now until the first Sunday of NOV. In other words, AZ never leaves MST. Other states move clocks fwd and back. Arizonans, with the exception of the Navajo Nation, do not change clocks.

The @AZCardinals had the opportunity to play in the @ProFootballHOF game back in 2012. My most vivid memory of that game was when linebacker Stewart Bradley did a dance. 🕺🏾 🪩
